SINILOAN, LAGUNA, Philippines — The Tree Planting Initiatives in Siniloan, Laguna last February 19, 2020 was a success. Toyo Ink Philippines in cooperation with the Carmelray Locators Environmental Association, Inc. (CLEAN) and with the Eco-Industrial Exchange Network, Inc. conduct tree planting activity in the UP Laguna Land Grant area in Siniloan, Laguna.
More than 1000 seedlings of native trees were planted in the tree-planting site of the UP Laguna Land Grant.
The UP Land Grant has an area of 5,729 hectares was awarded to the University of the Philippines in 1930 to be held and administered as a permanent endowment for additional support and maintenance and for other purposes. The Land Grant also serves as the central experiment station for the research and extension functions of the University, specifically the Colleges of Agriculture, arts and Sciences, and Veterinary Medicine.
Reforestation and biodiversity conservation remain as the imperative agenda of the Laguna-Quezon Land Grant (LQLG). Last February 14, 2020, the UP LQLG celebrated its 90th founding anniversary with the theme “Protecting biodiversity: the urgency of forest reforestation in the Sierra Madre.”
